More short stops or fewer long ones?

I'm finding when the area is dull (north shore Lake Huron) I take fewer longer stops. Today on the east shore of Superior I'm stopping much more frequently, even though I got a late start.

I'm at Old Woman Bay ( recommended by Burt from the Laurentian's). Except for the absence of tides, its like an ocean beach. See for yourself.
