11,558 Finally on the way

Left Chester, VT. This morning. Running rough in the mid-range, but planning on going anyway unless Joe @ Turco said it wouldn't be reliable.

Got there at 8:50 and didn't leave til 1:30, BUT IT WAS RUNNING GREAT! Joe diagnosed the initial problem as a plugged pilot jet. After he fixed that, he took it for a test drive and wasn't satisfied.

Acid washed both carbs, needles and jets then balanced. No surging! Smooth torque across the range. It's like brand new.

Took off at 1:30. Lunch in Ticonderoga's Burleigh restaurant then headed up the east shore of Lake Champlain heading for Cornwall, Ontario. But eastern Ontario looked dull and I'd never been through the Adirondacks. So, course change.

Went through Ausable, Lake Placid and Saranac Lake. Empty roads, great corners and letting it run. Hit rain in Cranberry Lake - no motel.  Got under a gas station awning to put on rain gear when someone coming out pointed out a B&B across the street. So I'm at the Splendid Space B&B. Two rooms with a shared bath.

But, I got to put my bike on the porch!

Today's mileage - 247
Trip to date - 497
